Registration need to know Information

Sierra to the Sea is a scenic and challenging bicycle and camping Tour starting in Coloma in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and ending in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The Tour is fully supported with SAG vehicles, rest stops and trucks to carry your camping gear. You will bicycle some 420 miles of mountain, valley and coastal roads that are best suited to strong and experienced cyclists. Please see the Tour Info webpage for other important details regarding the Tour.

Sierra to the Sea Tour is limited to 130 riders, who will be registered on a first come, first served basis using Sierra to the Sea's online registration.

Once we receive and review your Registration Questionnaire and payment, if you agree to have your name shown, you will appear on the list of the currently registered riders. If you are on the Standby list you will be so notified. If payment is not mailed within 7 days of submitting your registration, you may lose your reservation.  Your registration is not transferable, and there is a cancellation fee of at least $150 should you need to withdraw from the Tour after your registration has been confirmed (see the Cancellation Policy).  There is no cancellation charge if you are on our Standby list and then decline our invitation to join the tour (though we would certainly appreciate hearing from you if you no longer wish to remain on the Standby list).

Since our registration takes place nearly five months in advance of the Tour, it is likely that we will receive cancellations from previously confirmed riders. To fill these openings, we maintain a Standby Rider List, and would be pleased to add you to the list. No payment of Tour fees will be required until you are notified of an opening, and elect to join the Tour.

Registration Fees and Payment

Sierra to the Sea Tour price is $1,500 per person.  This includes all camping fees, six dinners, six breakfasts and lunch in Golden Gate Park. At additional cost, the Tour also offers bus transport for riders and their gear from San Jose to Coloma, and from San Francisco back to San Jose upon conclusion of the Tour. All Tour guests will also receive a commemorative Sierra to the Sea water bottle.

The following additional fees may apply, depending on the options selected during your registration:

  • An additional fee of $50 will be charged for the storage and handling of Hard or Soft Bike Case containers. No fee will be charged for cardboard bike boxes or plastic bike bags or if we use blankets to transport your bike.
  • An additional fee of $80 for bus transportation from the hotel in San Jose to the ride start in Coloma.
  • An additional fee of $45 for bus transportation from the rides end in Golden Gate Park back to San Jose.
  • When you register you will be given an option to pay by credit card or check. Questions about registration should be addressed to:

    Sierra to the Sea
    Maria Ortiz
    2288 Westgate Ave
    San Jose, CA 95125
    register@sierratothesea.org

When you have completed the Questionnaire, review your inputs, and when checked correct, click the Submit button and your information will be emailed to the Sierra to the Sea Registration Center. (If you need to change any of your submitted information, please contact the Registrar. DO NOT attempt to re-register.) Your registration request will be confirmed following receipt of your payment. Those on the wait list should not send in either the check or signed waiver until notified to do so.

If you are sending in a check or money order for more than one rider, please identify the names and confirmation numbers for each rider with your payment.

    Tour Cancellations and Registration Changes

In the event that circumstances require that you cancel your participation in this year’s Tour, please notify the Registration Coordinator as shown above as soon as possible.  Please review our Cancellation Policy.
